Although Phil Lockwood had been a welder for some time, it was as he
was doing metal fabrication for his father-in-law’s business that
he was inspired to take a creative turn with his welding skills.
....One day as he was looking over some of the scrap metal pieces in the
shop, he had the thought, “Those two pieces look like fish.” Thirty-five
minutes later the scrap metal had been cleverly crafted into a pair of
fish complete with bubbles and sea grass. A neighbor, upon seeing the
newly created sculpture, exclaimed, “This is incredible! You’re
an artist!”
....And so began Phil’s journey to what is now Blue Water Metal Works
and the realization of his long-held desire to do more than routine welding
and metal fabrication. Phil’s studio is located in Dixon, California,
where he lives with his wife and young son. Phil’s work and sculptures
are in businesses and restaurants all over northern California and in
personal collections across the United States.
....Phil loves the challenge of creating
unique designs to meet the special and particular desires of his clients.
